A Strong Connection to the Southern Grenadines

Nkosi Stewart quote: My eyes won’t close until I’m done

Nkosi Stewart’s commitment to relentless service for the Southern Grenadines.

As a native of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and cousin to Glenford Stewart, who served as the Southern Grenadines’ parliamentary representative from 1998 to 2001, Nkosi Stewart carries a legacy of public service. His deep roots in the region, combined with his global perspective from studying and competing in Hawaii, position him as a unique leader for the constituency. The Southern Grenadines, encompassing islands like Canouan, Mayreau, and Union Island, is a vibrant region reliant on tourism, fishing, and agriculture, yet faces challenges like infrastructure needs and recovery from natural disasters such as Hurricane Beryl in 2024 (Constituencies of St. Vincent and the Grenadines).

Stewart’s decision to run as an independent candidate, supported by a faction of the New Democratic Party (NDP), reflects his commitment to breaking from traditional party politics and focusing on the people’s needs (NDP Stance on Southern Grenadines). His campaign is set to challenge the NDP’s historical dominance and the Unity Labour Party’s (ULP) growing influence, offering a fresh, community-driven approach for the 2025 elections, due by November (2020 Vincentian General Election).
